Honeysuckle seawall works

Work to replenish rock on seawalls at Honeysuckle, Newcastle Harbour, will commence early next week (week commencing 30 January 2017).

Hunter Development Corporation (HDC) is advising visitors to be aware the work will require a temporary diversion of the popular harbourside promenade.

The work will involve the placement of an estimated 6,200 tonnes of rock into the harbour to support and stabilise the 145m length of the Lee 4 seawall to ensure
the structure is suitable for the future extension of the foreshore promenade and public domain.

The work will take around 14 weeks to complete, subject to weather conditions. The diversion  will be between Worth Place Park and Throsby Wharf.

The western portion of Worth Place Park West will be impacted by the works so the barbecue and play equipment will be moved eastwards.

Construction activities will be between 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday. No construction activities will occur on Sunday or Public Holidays.

Environmental and traffic management measures will be implemented by the Principal Contractor for the duration of the works.
